Children...

I don't want them to grow up too quickly and miss what being young and carefree is all about.
I want them to enjoy it all. But being their mom, I want to be part of their enjoyment too...So far so good.

The Exam Take over...

I have been ousted this past week by my chick who has been using every spare space in the house for her studying. The dining table was littered with papers, her bedroom, a bomb site and somewhere in it was the poor lonely laptop with it's juice run dry, Spanish revision left floating in the History page, and then there was the hub of the house; the landing. Art took over here and we were banned not only from using the Apple but from touching anything in the immediate vicinity while she was not in the chair.

So after 24 hours of recharging the laptop to its wonderful self, I am able to rant about Mocks. She is only doing her Mocks and the house is in a complete shambles and I don't dare disturb anything or I might unbalance the Universe or something.

So I am trying to spend as much time outside as I can to up my vitamin D and to get our garden back into some sort of order. My chickens now love me because I have not only overhauled their house and run but re-fenced an area for them to free range a bit more. Budlias and anything woody has been butchered and the log piles have all been straightened. Best of all, I lugged the damn Christmas tree off the driveway, across the bridge and over to the bonfire. Yes, me, not him. It was not easy as it was 14 feet and really heavy still! He would have left it until next Christmas if he could have. I was just plain sick of stepping around it and nagging him about it. I wonder how long the light above the front door will have to stay out before he changes that? I can't reach it even with a ladder.

So I think I will go out into the garden again and see what else I can butcher. If I can't clean inside, I might as well clean out. I love early Spring.

  1. Mine two eldest have just finished their mock exams so I can totally relate to what you are going through. It causes so much stress and mess, so glad the exams are through, for now.

  3. Mine was doing her ACTs all of last year and then had Senior finals in January. I have just reclaimed my dining table, despite the fact that she has a desk in her room and a computer desk (for all the kids) outside her room. Good job we don't dine formally all the time.
