Children...

I don't want them to grow up too quickly and miss what being young and carefree is all about.
I want them to enjoy it all. But being their mom, I want to be part of their enjoyment too...So far so good.

The Big Question

I heard a rumor over the weekend when I was away with my fluffs. I heard a lovely friend of mine had breast cancer. It made me feel physically sick and I didn't want to talk about it.

First thing Monday morning, I called my lovely friend to ask about the rumor and she confirmed it. But talking to her about it made the sick feeling start to go away.
She was veery confident and brave but not immune to pain and sadness. She was very real about the cancer.

She is a doctor herself so could explain the gory details but that didn't stop her getting cancer or having complications.

How and why does this happen to the good people?

My chicks were not happy to hear about my friend as they have known her since they were little and are friends with her children as well.

So now I guess I have to go get my headaches sorted and probably even drop by Tesco's parking lot to visit the breast screening clinic. Better safe then sorry.

  1. That's awful. I'm sorry to hear it. My younger sister beat breast cancer two years ago. Unfortunately she's battling different cancer now, the poor thing. It's a rough road, now's the time for true friends to rally - she's going to need you.

  2. It's always better to be safe than sorry and really they can pick things up so early now and sort them before they become a problem. As for your friend, she sounds very brave. She will need your friendship so it's lovely that you are around for her. Not that it will be easy for you either. Thinking of you
