Children...

I don't want them to grow up too quickly and miss what being young and carefree is all about.
I want them to enjoy it all. But being their mom, I want to be part of their enjoyment too...So far so good.

Puppies and chicks

It's been a lovely and tiring week.
This morning I actually got to sleep in past 7am as the rooster was on puppy duty for the first time. Acadia is an early riser and I have been up at the first little squeak from her by 6am every morning since we collected her a week ago. She is such a cute little puppy and I haven't minded the early rising except for the jet lag that I was suffering from earlier in the week.

The chicks slept in all week and missed me wondering inside then outside then inside then outside again from 6-8am in my pajamas with a little puppy in tow. She is learning pretty quick about going outside and the two older dogs are teaching her about the ins and outs of the garden. They aren't too crazy about her yet but the more confident she gets, the more interested they get. I don't feel confident about leaving her unattended with them so basically I have gotten Nothing done this week unless she is sleeping or shut in her coop or with me in the car. ( I learned quick to keep newspapers on the floor wells for her accidents and puppy puke.)

I have only run for 2 1/2 hours total this week
I have not written a single word on my YA novel
I have only blogged once
I have only been to the supermarket once (chick, puppy sat)
I have mopped the whole kitchen floor three times
I have done a lot of cooking for the freezer
and I have fallen asleep on the sofa with her on me a couple of times

The puppy in the car is an interesting one. Rosalynn, my beautiful girl dog, loves the car but Hobbes, my older dog, hates it. I want Cadi to love the car too so we have to suffer a bit first. We have been all around the near by town and down to the V Festival to drop off V chicks and though she doesn't love it, she tolerates it.
Hopefully next week will be better for her. I have a trip to Watford for Hockey,
A trip up to a friends in Suffolk and Cadi will come for the day and various trips to cart the chicks round to tennis camp, and friends houses. She better love the car soon.

Rooster completed his second Triathalon this weekend. He loved it but has yet to ask me if he can do another one...yet.

The chicks are both at V Festival this weekend in Chelmsford. They keep texting in to say what they are seeing. They are loving it. I am not loving going to collect them at midnight to bring them home!

The things we do for our puppies and chicks.

On another note, I have some blogger 'friends' that have had and are having a tough time of it emotionally and physically. I feel for them and wish them well.

  1. Gosh! Your life sounds so busy and eventful even though you say your lovely new puppy is slowing you down
