Children...

I don't want them to grow up too quickly and miss what being young and carefree is all about.
I want them to enjoy it all. But being their mom, I want to be part of their enjoyment too...So far so good.

A L'Oreal moment

The Chick said the greatest thing to me this afternoon.

It was brought on by me buying her and I new lippys by L'Oreal. Pink for me and nude for her. She said that she was really pleased that I bought her a L'Oreal lipstick because she loves the smell of it. I told her I did too but then she said that it always reminds her of me. When she was in pre-prep school, she said I always smelled like the lipstick when I hugged her every afternoon at pick up time. She says now it just makes her feel warm and loved.

Thanks L'Oreal, how can I ever thank you enough for such a lovely moment with my daughter.

  1. Ah, that is a truly lovely thing. My kids say they always recognise my perfume and love it. The funny thing is I wear about 5 different perfumes but they must either all smell similar, or my skin makes them smell the same. Either way, the kids are very comforted.
I must go and smell my lipsticks. I didn't realise they had a smell!

  2. They do in the tube, which is probably what other people (kids) smell, but not when I'm wearing them, thank goodness.

  3. Isn't it strange how certain smells can be so evocative? Lipstick can have a lovely smell - warm and loving and happy. You are so right.
