Children...

I don't want them to grow up too quickly and miss what being young and carefree is all about.
I want them to enjoy it all. But being their mom, I want to be part of their enjoyment too...So far so good.

Go, go, go and wear the fluffy blue slippers-

I felt a bit pulled in all directions last weekend and I put about 400 miles on my car driving the chicks all over the county. I cooked all weekend, different meals at different times for whoever was home at what ever time, did numerous loads of different types of loads of laundry due to school, sports and leisure wear. I spent odd hours due to the miles in the car and had to throw in some Christmas shopping time into the mix as well.

I am working everyday right up until Christmas now and have to plan my time on post it's all over the house so I can have some sort of organized kayos. My usual routine before I leave for work starts with waking what ever child is home, packed lunches, feed the dogs and puppy, chickens, me, laundry, house tidy like a whirl wind(only house between kitchen and bedroom gets the whirl wind as it is direct path), dress myself and find shoes of child leaving house for the bus, walk dogs, turn off lights, 19 this morning!, lock dogs out of pantry and laundry room so they don't eat cats or our food, and go to work.

There are a few shouts and shrills in between all that but most mornings it goes pretty smoothly unless there is frost, sick dog, sick child,no power, fussy puppy or the likes. Or like this morning when the oil man parked his huge truck infront of the driveway 6 minutes before the Rooster needed to leave to do the bus run! Poor oil man then had irate mom in her not very nice pajamas and fluffy blue slippers having to move cars around at 7am. All good fun.

  1. You sound like a very busy bee! I think this time of year is often manic for a lot of people, there simply aren't enough hours in the day.

  2. Hahaha! I had to chuckle at Met Mum's comment... if your kids are anything like ours with all the friends and activities all over Essex I can easily imagine you've done 400 miles!! I hope you get some rest over the holidays x
