It is horrible but I am so jealous of my sister.
She is in our summer house and gets to ride out Hurricane Earl instead of me.
I got Bob but haven't had a good hurricane in years!
Not disrespecting Katrina and New Orleans or anything, but there is nothing like a good tropical storm to get the blood flowing.
Living in the UK, I just don't get that here. We get wind but not rain, wind and storm as well.
Category 4 heading in a southwesterly route towards New England and Cape Cod.
Maybe it will chase the sharks away.

I don't want them to grow up too quickly and miss what being young and carefree is all about.
I want them to enjoy it all. But being their mom, I want to be part of their enjoyment too...So far so good.

When I left Oklahoma for Massachusetts I missed the dramatic Okie weather so very much. Part of me wants to go to the Cape this weekend and ride out the storm to get that feeling of excitement and electricity when bad weather's a-brewing.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, I live in California so when I talk to easterers they freak out about earthquakes. To me, they're no big deal. But a hurricane would scare the crap out of me. A good storm I love. A hurricane? I'd be packing my bags to move!
ReplyDeleteGrowing up in the Bahamas I always loved a tropical storm. Hurricanes meant school days off. I love thunder and lightning with driving rain. There's something so comforting about being inside warm and safe! I totally get where you're coming from...
